CURTAIN CALL

Curtain Call is a figurative Oil Artist from England, trained in Oils and Charcoal across the globe throughout his life, he now spends his time focused on capturing the human form from life.

From the age of 16 he departed on an Odyssey of two decades that seen him in Middle East, North, East & Central Africa, Europe and South America. The impact of those 20 years on the canvas is palpable, now portrayed through his work with Oil and Graphite

Travelling is far from behind him but his creative gravity pulls to the English countryside and the rolling Italian hills. Curtain Call's paintings are a visceral exploration of the human experience, capturing the raw emotion and complexity of individuals faced with adversity. His mastery of figurative art allows him to delve into the intricacies of the human form, translating the physical and emotional tolls onto the canvas.

“The world that I create is not that from a photograph… What is the point in that? It is a world that I see, my world, and well…if I could tell you what it is that I see in my mind, then I would have no need to paint it".

A painter captures the world as it appears to the eye, translating the tangible into form and color, much like the precision of Renaissance masters who sought to perfect perspective and realism. An Artist, however, transcends this boundary, unveiling the unseen—the emotions, struggles, and passions that shape their soul. This distinction echoes the spirit of Romanticism, where creators like Turner and Delacroix infused their canvases with the raw energy of human experience, reminding us that true artistry lies not in the mere replication of reality, but in the ability to evoke what is deeply felt.
